About Fargo Field
The Fargo Moorhead Redhawks play all their home games out of Newman Outdoor Field. This venue is a baseball stadium located in Fargo, North Dakota that is located on the North Dakota State University campus and is home to the RedHawks as well as the North Dakota State Bison baseball team.
The venue had seating for 4,172 guests when it opened in 1996. Besides hosting excellent baseball games, it is also known for the Maury Wills Museum that was opened in honor of the former MLB player who worked for the RedHawks as coach and a radio analyst until the end of the 2017 season.
Overtime, the venue has become well-loved. With college baseball writer Eric Sorenson ranking it the sixth most underrated venue in Division I baseball in 2012. It was also one of four hub stadiums used for the six team shortened American Association season in 2020 when games were curtailed due to the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

History
The team was initially created as part of a Northern League expansion franchise in 1996 along with the now-defunct Madison Black Wolf. Since its formation, it has fielded a number of players who have become famous with their performance in the MLB level. This includes Chris Coste, a former RedHawks player who went on to become a member of the 2008 World Series-winning Philadelphia Phillies.
Today, the team, alonsisde the St. Paul Saints, have become known as the most stable and successful independent baseball teams over the past 15 years. They have also been reported as having the first broadcast by minor league professional baseball on the Internet.
Also, in fifteen seasons in the Northern League, the RedHawks set the modern Northern League best single-season record for winning percentage with an incredible 64-21 record (.753) in 1998. They’ve also set the record for most wins in a season with 68 in 2005 as well as making it to the playoffs in 14 of 15 seasons.
