Newman Outdoor Field Information
Newman Outdoor Field is a baseball stadium in Fargo, North Dakota. It is located on the campus of the North Dakota State University and has been home to the Independent American Association’s Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks as well as the North Dakota State Bison baseball team.
With over 4000 seats available, it’s become one of the most popular locations in Fargo for baseball action. But it isn’t just baseball that draws fans to the venue.
Located within the venue is the Maury Wills Museum, which honors former Major League Baseball player Maury Wills, who coached for the RedHawks and worked as a radio analyst until the end of the 2017 season.

- The first number retired at the stadium was the #8 worn by Roger Maris, a hometown hero who played for the Fargo-Moorhead Twins int the 1950s.
- The outfield distances were designed to replicate those of Yankee Stadium, where Roger Maris became a baseball legend.
- College baseball writer Eric Sorenson placed the field as the sixth most underrated venues in Division I baseball in 2012
- The stadium was one of the four hub stadiums used for the six team American Association season in 2020. It was also the hub stadium for the Redhawks as well as the Winnipeg Goldeyes.
